CIMAGE College Hosts One-Day Startup Program at Holi Mela 2025
A special one-day startup program was organized at CIMAGE College, Patna, in celebration of the 2025 Holi Mela. The goal of the program was to provide a platform for students to showcase their startup projects, allowing them to present their ideas and products to a wider audience. In addition to this, various key aspects of business and startups—such as investment, expansion, and innovation—were also discussed. The one-day startup program was inaugurated by two prominent businessmen from Bihar, Mr. Ramesh Gupta and Mr. Rajkumar Sultania. In addition, both guests shared their business experiences and the challenges they face while running a business with the students.
While the vibrant Holi celebrations were ongoing, the program added an extra layer of excitement, blending business discussions with the festive atmosphere. Participants had the chance not only to display their creativity but also to explore new opportunities for their startup and entrepreneurial ideas. Students from various courses at CIMAGE College, including BBA, BCA, MBA, and MCA, were divided into teams for the event. Over 50 stalls were set up, which the students had been preparing for over two weeks.
The CIMAGE College Holi Mela 2025 was organized under the guidance of the institution’s Directors, Dr. Neeraj Agarwal and Mrs. Megha Agarwal. They emphasized that GCIMAE is committed to providing students with practical knowledge in addition to theoretical education. The one-day startup program during the Holi Mela furthered this mission, giving students a hands-on opportunity to work on startup projects. Students from different courses were divided into teams, fostering collaboration. CIMAGE also ensured that the financial burden on students participating in the startup was minimal, allowing each student to invest only ₹200.
To participate, students had to go through several stages. In the first phase, they presented their startup ideas both orally and in writing to their teachers. Once their business ideas were approved, they moved to the second phase, which involved creating a detailed budgeting plan. This included calculating the total investment required for the business, each student's contribution, any sponsorships, and their shares in the business. Additionally, students were required to prepare a comprehensive report for their one-day startup project. This report included an analysis of total investments, market surveys, unit cost calculations, break-even points, marketing and social media strategies, and profit projections.
Given the Bihar government's focus on promoting entrepreneurship within the state, this one-day startup program at CIMAGE College is a significant opportunity for students looking to start their own ventures in the future.
